A Word About our Paperwork

Bill of Lading / Pickup Receipt

(top)

If the shipment is on a pallet, skid, or requires a container, we will provide a Bill of Lading or Pick-up Receipt depending on which shipping company becomes involved.   Please only use the provided Bill of Lading so the cargo is routed and billed correctly by our carrier.

If we are utilizing an ocean freight or air freight service, we may instead send a Pickup Receipt in place of the Bill of Lading.  Please have the carrier sign the pickup receipt.  Please send us a copy.  This will let us know they accepted the shipment.

Marks / Ship To Labels

(top)

Certain customers and shipping companies require special labels or marks labels.

If we send you these types of labels, please make sure they are  placed securely on the box, pallet, skid, or container being shipped.

Packing Lists

(top)

Packing Lists tell the receiver what is supposed to be in the shipment as well as giving them a way to reconcile against their order.  If we provide packing lists, we ask that you only use the ones we provide.   Do not put any other documentation inside or on the shipment other than the documents we provide you.

One copy of our packing list must go inside the container or  box while the other copy must go outside of the container or box.

Exception - Shipping to a Jealco location - any shipment coming to a Jealco location does not need a Jealco-provided packing list.  Instead, please include your company's packling list.

Shipping Instructions

(top)

Our shipping instructions  contain pertinent information needed for shipment of our orders.

In general, we ship three ways:

  • to a Jealco location
  • to our customer
  • to our customer's shipping representative

Based on the method chosen for a particular order, different information and procedures are needed.  Each method will require some or all of the following:

  • Weight and Dimensions of the shipment
  • Packing Lists
  • Bill of Lading for LTL or FCL shipment
  • Marks Labels

Weights & Dimensions

(top)

In order to determine the most cost effective shipping solution, we need to know the actual weight and dimensions of the order once it is ready to ship.  We utilize this information to price out the best shipping method for this particular situation.  Our preferred method of receiving this information is via our website.

We have a specific URL setup to handle this process: www.jealco.com/weights

You may enter up to 5 sets of weights and dimensions.  Once you submit the form, we will receive an email notification and can then begin determining the best way to ship based on the information you provided.  We will determine the best approach and contact you with the shipping paperwork for you to apply to our order.

If for some reason, our website is down at the time you try to use this link, you may simply submit the information via an email addressed to logistics@jealco.com.

Exception - Shipping to a Jealco location - if we request our order be shipped to a Jealco location, you are not required to provide weight and dimensions, however, we would appreciate knowing the tracking number(s) of the shipment.  You may submit this information using the same methods outlined above.
