As an independent distributor, we are not tied to any single manufacturer. That independence is deliberate: it means we can recommend what is genuinely best for your operation, drawing from a broad network of suppliers across conveyor belting, motors, gearboxes, elevator buckets, bearings, pallet jacks and more. If you do not see what you need, just ask.
Several U.S. manufacturers trust us with their international business. Frantz Manufacturing (bearings, skate wheels and sheaves) and Reuland Electric (electric motors, motor brakes and pump adapters) refer their international inquiries to Jealco, and we handle the export side for their customers.

The people who built Jealco, and the people who run it today.
Jose E. Almeida, “Mr. A”
Jose E. Almeida, affectionately known as “Mr. A,” was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador. As a young man he moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1947, where he worked for several conveyor companies including Litton Industries.
In 1950, at the urging of friends from South America and with the encouragement of his local friends, he began his own business exporting material handling equipment. In the mid-1960s he was recognized by President Lyndon B. Johnson as Honorary Consul of Costa Rica, and he served the Latin American community for many years.
In the early 1970s, he and his wife Dorothy moved the business to Atlanta, Georgia, to be closer to one of the largest international airports of the time, which helped build the company's success. Mr. A worked at Jealco until his death in May 2004.
Dorothy Almeida, “Mrs. A”
Dorothy married Jose in 1970 and took on the role of Vice President and Treasurer. She worked tirelessly by his side, making sure operations ran smoothly and that customers' shipments were delivered on time and in good order.
After Jose's death the company was to be liquidated, but Dorothy had other plans. She became President and continued the business, which by then was well known throughout South and Central America. Dorothy remained President until her “retirement” in 2015. She passed away in December 2024, leaving a legacy of genuine concern for her family, friends and clients that Jealco still practices today.
Mark Lacefield
Mark first worked at Jealco during summers as a kid, helping his Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Jose assemble mounds of marketing material and placing Jealco stickers in strategic places so customers knew who to call. He fondly remembers working with a great group of Jealco employees.
In 2006, when presented with the opportunity to lead the company, Mark became Jealco's CEO. He has taken Jealco from a paper, pencil, typewriter and Telex operation to the technology-driven company it is today, and has opened new markets in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.
Sergio Gianella
Sergio has been part of Jealco for more than 25 years. He started with the company while still in college and joined full time after graduating from the University of Georgia.
Born in Peru, he works with customers in both English and Spanish and looks after many of our Spanish-speaking clients. Sergio specializes in conveyor configurations and conveyor belting, helping customers match the right belt and conveyor to their application.
