Tapco Super Capacity Elevator Buckets: 8" Projection (CCLP and U-HD)
Super capacity buckets have an 8-inch projection to move more material per bucket, a way to raise the throughput of an existing leg where clearances allow. Tapco makes them in two styles: the low-profile CCLP Super Capacity in nine sizes from 10x8 to 20x8, the current build for the sizes long sold as CC-HD super capacity, and the deeper U-HD in 12x8 and 14x8. Every size is in our store in blue and white polyethylene.

U-HD 12x8 and 14x8: deep style
The same two nominal sizes in Tapco's deep, rounded-bottom U-HD design. Choose this style if the buckets you run now are about 8-13/16" deep.

The first table is the low-profile CCLP Super Capacity; the second is the deep U-HD. WL = water level; use WL + 10% as usable capacity. Minimum spacing is per Tapco's charts. Tolerances: capacity ±3%, dimensions A, B and C ±3/16". Figures per Tapco published data. Urethane and nylon in the same sizes are quoted to order.
Standard bolt holes are drilled on the WL (water level) line, ±1/4", and drilled 1/32" oversize.
Installing them
Tapco recommends fanged elevator bolts with nylon insert lock nuts on pulleys 6" and over, and No. 3 Eclipse slotted-head bolts on pulleys under 6", with a flat steel (fender) washer inside the bucket under each nut. Buckets can be intermixed with existing steel or plastic buckets; check clearances and balance first.

FAQ
Will a deeper bucket fit my leg?
Only if the casing and head pulley clearances allow the extra projection. Measure the clearance, or send us your leg's dimensions and current bucket and we will check it.
I run a CC-HD 10x8, 11x8, 13x8 or 15x8. What do I order now?
Order the CCLP Super Capacity in the same nominal size. Tapco now builds its 8-inch CC-HD sizes in this low-profile design; it fits the same leg and lets you run the buckets a little closer together.
12x8 or 14x8: which style do I need?
Both styles come in these two sizes. Measure the depth (C) of the buckets you run now: about 6-3/4" means the CCLP Super Capacity, about 8-13/16" means the U-HD. If you are not sure, send us a photo or the part number.
How far apart should the buckets be?
Per Tapco's charts, at least 7 inches for the CCLP Super Capacity sizes and 9 inches for the U-HD 12x8 and 14x8, as shown in the Min. spacing column.
Which capacity figure should I use?
Use WL + 10%, water level plus 10%, as the usable capacity for engineering purposes.
